Christer Bjørnevik

Lawyer/Partner

Christer Bjørnevik primarily works on legal matters pertaining to real estate and has for a number of years assisted several of the region’s biggest property developers and builders on such matters.

He provides assistance with sales and purchases and other forms of real estate transactions (leases, purchases and sales, negotiation of option contracts, implementation of settlements etc.). His assistance also includes development of real estate for expansion purposes, in the form of assistance in relation to public authorities (e.g., in planning and construction matters) and other private actors (e.g., by negotiating reimbursement agreements with other developers/parties subject to reimbursement, or various agreements with existing neighbours). In addition, he regularly assists housing developers in deficiency cases and other matters relating to the Norwegian Housing Construction Act.

Bjørnevik has special expertise in the area of rigging and organisation of larger, complex development properties, where the projects often involve combined residential and commercial buildings with associated common functions such as parking facilities, etc. Bjørnevik played a key role in the legislative work that resulted in the new Property Unit Ownership Act and has expert knowledge regarding this and related acts. He has also been a contributor to the book “Property Unit Ownership Act – Commentary to the Act” (2020).
