Christer Bjørnevik works mainly with legal issues related to real estate, and has for several years assisted several of the region’s largest real estate developers and entrepreneurs on such issues.
The assistance includes sales/purchases and other forms of real estate transactions (rent, negotiation of option agreements, etc.). It also includes development of real estate for expansion purposes, in the form of assistance towards public authorities (e.g. in planning and construction matters) and to other private actors (e.g. by negotiating reimbursement agreements with other developers, or various agreements with existing neighbours). In addition, he regularly assists housing developers in deficiency cases and other matters related to the Housing Construction Act.
Bjørnevik has expertise in organizing larger, complex development properties, where the projects often contain combined residential and commercial buildings with associated common functions such as parking facilities, etc. Bjørnevik played a central role in the legislative work leading up to the new Unit Housing Act (“Eierseksjonsloven”, in force by January 2018), and has extended expertise in this and related laws.
